which video game console should i buy?

xbox 360, ps3, or nintendo wii? i like first person shooters and i like sports games. i play most of my games offline but i would be open to making friends and playing online some too. im 15 years old and i have 500 dollars to spend on the console and some games. which one is the best for me.
thanks for all the help guys. sounds like xbox 360 is the way to go for price but that sucks it costs online.

Wii is the absolutely horrible in FPS gaming, so that’s out of your choices. PS3 and Xbox 360 are really a debate, but I would rather prefer getting the Xbox as it has far more better choices for shooter games and action.

xbox or ps3 but i would go with xbox 360 ps3 costs too much even tho its better wii is junk

the ps3 well because i have all 3 consoles and the wii is mostly if you play with people at ur home and you work up an sweat and you cant go online and play dvds and stuff ps3 the live is free and its beter graphics and 360 u pay for live and the red ring of DEATH

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is the best bet for you, Great Shooter Games, not to Mention GREAT sports games, the graphics are better than a PS3 (If you don’t believe me Look up “360 vs PS3 Graphics” in your favorite search engine) plus the 360 middle package cost $299 and that’s allot of money left over to buy accessories and games! The PS3 will make you spend all 500 on just the game system alone!

As soon as I read “first person shooters” I thought Xbox. I own one, but can’t stand the sheer number of shooters on it. They all look the same to me. Played Gears… meh. Anyway, have fun with it!
Oh yeah lots of sports games for Xbox too. Think their online component is more flushed out so should be a better experience… but that’s guessing. Sucks you gotta pay to play on Xbox Live though.

Well, unless Halo is a must for you go with PS3 all the way. Just please trust me (and I used to be an Xbox fanboy). Better graphics, ALOT more features and functionality, Doubles as a pc with linux, web browser, wifi built in, onlines free, runs alot cooler and quieter than the 360, Killzone 2 is the sh**, and to top it all off, the “Big Guy” at EA stated that they have tapped out (reached the limit) of the 360’s hardware, but not the PS3’s. Everything I stated is a fact, trust me, or do your research.

Wii is fun and a great console to own but in your case not the best.
now, ps3 is a great console, its ALOT more reliable then a 360 as it doesnt break as easily– however depending on what amount of GB it has, some will be ps2 compatible and others wont. yet, it still produces superb graphis for shooting games such as kill zone. I dont play sport games so i have no idea how that is on the ps3.
Now.. xbox 360 does have much much more of a selection for games and also has great graphics. I dont go online but my brother has and he usually gets disconnected alot however that just might be for us but you never know. I would probably go for the ps3 however either one would be a good purchase.
